September is a time of going back to your daily routine. Back to school, back to work and back to watching all your favorite T.V. shows that have been gone all summer! One show that I'm excited about is the final season of Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl has been on the air for five years now and is going into its sixth and final season. When I heard about this I was both sad and relieved. Sad because one of my favorite shows is coming to an end but, also relieved because I feel like the show has run its course and it's time to bring the character's story lines to a close.
Over the years one of the main aspects of the show has been who's dating who. Each of the characters in the show has gone through multiple relationships. Some good and some downright ugly. One of the main relationships on the show that I've been interested in since the beginning is between Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf. These two are completely the opposite and yet completely the same. They are both scheming and driven individuals that will stop at nothing to get what they want. For Chuck that is to own and run Bass Industries and for Blair it is to be the queen of the Upper East Side. Both of them will stop at nothing when it comes to getting what they want as has been seen countless times during the seasons whether that means becoming enemies with your best friend or cutting themselves off from their entire family they will do whatever it takes to get to the top.
Now you may be thinking what would make me like a couple where both the people involved seemed to be so conceited and arrogant. Well let me explain, what I have described above is what both Blair and Chuck were like before they met each other. It was through being together that both of them began to realize each others faults as well as their own. This has allowed them to both change and grow as individuals. Their characters are both still extremely driven but, they now have more compassion for others around them.
Over the last few seasons both Chuck and Blair's relationship has gone through many up and downs. I am hoping that this last and final season will bring them together in the way that many of Chuck and Blair fans have been waiting for since the beginning (and by bring them together I mean that Chuck will finally put a ring on it!). Whether or not Chuck and Blair do get their happy ending I know that I will be watching this last and final season to see how it all finally plays out!

I did not know this was there final season, that is so disappointing! I love watching this show and I agree with you, one of the highlights is waiting for Blair and Chuck to get back together. I admit, I'm not a huge fan of either one, but when they are together it is such real and cute love. So, I am definitely rooting for them to get back together this season!
I can't wait for this either! Although you know that they wont let Blair and Chuck get together until the series finale.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's time for the show to end. I feel like at this point it's getting a little far-fetched and I just need some closure.

ReplyDeleteI am also so stoked to watch the last season of gossip girl. I feel the same way happy and sad, but the sad reality is that shows always come to an end. I am also rooting for Chuck and Blair. They are my favorite couple and I think they are meant to be together. I don't think anybody could handle each other the way they do. I think that nobody knows them better than they know each other and even though their relationship is complicated, it works for them and they know how to deal with the complications. I sure hope Chuck puts a ring on Blair!!
