Two and a Half Men Cursed?

Ex-star, Charlie Sheen has made yet another statement about the TV series Two and a Half Men, saying "it is radically clear the show is cursed." This is based on a video posted by a Christian Church with Angus T. Jones on it, stating the show is "filth" and asking viewers to "Please stop watching it."

Wow, I don't know about the rest of you, but that one caught me completely off guard. I for one, enjoy that show and can only hope my favorite character, Jake, does not get the cut like Charlie. I also couldn't be more curious as to why Angus would make a comment like that out of the blue. Could it be their management, contract issues or unreasonable production requirements? I suppose there are too many possibilities to really narrow it down, especially since Angus gave no clue as to what the issue is.

It could be hard to tell what the outcome could be from these public comments as a source has said Jake does not show up in the next two shows before the end of year. That means if he does continue to be a star on the show, it won't be until the new year that he appears on another episode.

It appears as though Angus' reasons for his comments are due to his "search for a spiritual home." He states he is "not OK with what [he's] learning, what the Bible says, and being on that television show.” My question is, what exactly are they learning on that show? I know, as a viewer, the show doesn't reflect the best morals, but I never would have thought it could have such a negative impact on the actors.

His blunt, public statement of not wanting to be on the show anymore due to its interference with his religious beliefs is actually quite surprising. As a star on the show for the past 9 years it's refreshing to see an actor, especially a child actor, not fall under the 'spell' of Hollywood.

Personally I think that if Jake's character gets cut off the show, I don't see Two and a Half Men lasting much longer. Having to replace 2 stars on the show within two years would not be good for ratings.Since Charlie was killed of the show, the number of viewers has dropped from 20 million to 14.5 million per episode and I only see those declining further if Jake was removed from the series. However, this is just based on my opinion because I find Jake to be the most humorous on the show. There is always the possibility for the show to regain its original popularity, but I think it would take some time if they got rid of Jake.

Is it just coincidence that two stars on the show have expressed their feelings about the show in such a negative, "dramatic fashion"?

  1. Hi Corinne!

I was really surprised when I read your post and saw that another one of the main characters from Two and a Half Men wanted to leave! Truth be told I only started to watch the show when Ashton Kutcher had joined the cast and don't really know much about what it was like before. But, what I can say is that if a main actor in the show wants to leave right after another main character had left then maybe Charlie Sheen wasn't as crazy as the media made him out to be. My opinion is that maybe there is something else going on behind closed doors that is causing these actors to want to leave? Hopefully, though the character of Jake does stay on the show because he is one of my favorites!
