A show that has taken the television world by storm over the last few years is
Big Bang Theory. I have been following this show almost since it started. The Big Bang Theory is one of the best shows that's been on T.V. for awhile now. In case you don't know what the show is about here's a
brief summary. The show is about four guys named Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj. These four friends are successful scientists. Other than having their successful careers in life these four men have not accomplished anything else in their lives. In other words they are full out nerds that love halo marathons, star trek and pining after girls that will never give them the time of day. Another main character to the show is Penny. Penny is the attractive female who lives across the hall from Leonard and Sheldon. The quirky sarcasm of Penny combined with the complete awkwardness of Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj makes for a hilarious television show!

This said one of my favorite characters on this show would have to be Raj. Raj is an immigrant from India who is an astrophysicist. Raj is known to have problems talking to women. When a women is in the room Raj completely and entirely loses his ability to speak It is only under the influence of alcohol that Raj is able to have any kind of reasonable conversion with the opposite sex.

In today's television world many shows are about hardcore drama. Examples of shows like this include
Revenge, Grey's Anatomy and
The Good Wife to name a few. Now I'm not saying that these shows aren't good but, rather that these types of shows are often revolved completely around drama. I myself believe that after a long day I would rather settle in to watch a comedy. Also, it's hard to find a good comedy to watch on T.V. these days. Many comedy's that are air in my opinion aren't actually funny or have actors which are trying to hard to act funny. The Big Bang Theory is a show which has good acting as well as people which are genuinely funny.
So how many of you out there are also fans of Big Bang Theory? If yes I would love to hear why! And if not what is another show that you enjoy?

ReplyDeleteI am not an avid watcher of the Big Bang Theory, but I do enjoy the episodes when I see them (my father loves them ... so I usually catch a couple). You are right, the characters are extremely captivating. I don't usually enjoy comedies, yet this one is an exception because it is actually funny!
The first time I watched the Big Bang Theory, I thought it would have a dry sense of humor, like The Office ... instead though, it uses witty humor.
I have always adored Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny. I first fell in love with her when she played in 8 Simple Rules. She has wonderful acting abilities, and always seems to steal every scene. What do you think about her? Who is your favorite actor/actress on Big Bang Theory?
I love the Big Bang Theory! It is a different show from all those dramatic high school TV series shows. It's a different kind of humor and I find it hilarious.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite actor is probably Sheldon. He is absolutely ridiculous, but he plays it all too well. They picked some great actors to play each and every part so perfectly.
I used to watch 8 Simple Rules too Riley! I wish that show would keep playing. These shows are really good at focusing on the daily lives of quirky families or friends.
I like Penny in the Big Bang Theory only sometimes though. The show wouldn't be the same without her, but sometimes I feel like she has to push or try too hard to play her role.

ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love Big Bang Theory! I don't think I know a single person who doesn't like the Big Bang Theory. I've noticed how a lot of people complain about how the characters aren't life like. People might say no one is like that in real life but i think that's one of the great things about the show. It's a caricature of life that's what makes it so entertaining. No one wants to watch some scientist solve formulas on a blackboard all day!
