If you are looking for a great way to stand out this year or want to really get into 'character', then how about trying to some Halloween contacts? That's right, you can actually buy one pair of contacts to match your costume this year. Ranging all the way from red vampire eyes to smiley faces and even glow in the dark, these contacts can be bought for a mere $24.99, with no prescription.
Scared to wear contacts? Don't be, as a contact lenses wearer myself, I assure they are so comfortable you don't even feel them (if you do then they may be damaged or inside out). As for putting them in, well that does take a little practice for first timers, but if you don't mind having to touch your eye then you will have no problem.

Here
is just one example of someone wearing a pair of these contacts. As you
can see they stand out and catch your eye. Check out Clearly Contacts to see their wide variety of special Halloween edition lenses.
Personally, I have not tried these contacts. I can't say I haven't been tempted just to see peoples' reactions, but when it came down to it I never had the appropriate costume or it just slipped my mind by the time the 31st came. My optometrist office also showed them for around $80, which is another reason I never purchased a pair. Although, that could just be the price for a prescription pair. Either way, I was shocked to see Clearly Contacts selling them for only $24.99 (without a prescription).
Though they do look intriguing, I can't decipher whether their are a waste of money and tacky or if they are actually a good prop to enhance a costume. I suppose it depends on your costume and which design you choose, however I don't believe I have actually seen anyone wear a pair. I have seen plenty wear coloured contacts, but nothing like a flower or stars replacing their eyes. My gym teacher, from Jr. High, did have sunglasses contacts, which made his eyes appear red, which, I admit it, looked creepy but for Halloween it would be perfect.
So why not try something new this year? Your costume has a high chance of being worn by someone else, but perhaps this could be what makes you different.
